Jojoba Oil and The Cure for Acne:
To understand the treatment of acne you must understand the cause of acne.
What is acne and what is the cause: Your skin is covered with glands that secrete an oily substance, called sebum (1). It is designed to keep skin supple and moist and it is controlled by your hormones. During puberty, these sebaceous glands can become over active and produce excessive oil. With dead skin this oil clogs pores, leading to blackheads, whiteheads and a particular kind of acne causing bacteria that tends to multiply and block the pores. Accordingly, the bacteria cause the skin around the pores to be irritated and inflamed, creating the spots, blemishes and acne. It afflicts most people during the teenage years.

Some causes of acne include genetics, hormones, stress, cosmetics, or sweat, and other physical factors. Acne is commonly occurs in adolescents with a peak in the late teens. Women will notice that their acne gets worse 2 to 7 days before their menstrual cycle.
(1) SEBUM: The skin is the largest organ of the body. Like the lungs, skin needs to breathe to remain healthy. This is achieved through several small holes called pores. Besides permitting the air to enter, pores also serve to produce the oils that the skin needs to remain supple and avoid drying. Those oils are called sebum. Acne occurs when the body produces too much sebum. Since the skin can not eliminate it completely, it builds up and mixes with other dirt on the skin to form a "plug." It then blocks the pores, prevents the skin from breathing and causes formation of a "Blackhead" called "comedo." If the pores remain blocked, a germ may develop and cause infection. It is the infection that damages the pores and causes the formation of pimples. If the problem is not controlled and thus become worse, then you might have a mild case of acne developed to a chronic case of acne
