The Findings of Dr. Tao Song, M.D.
The Dental Hygiene Department
Dear Jen Post,
Thank you for your E-mail regarding the oral benefits of green tea. The main part of green tea that has the oral benefits is it's condensed tannins, which is about 10-24% of the green tea leaves. Green tea has the highest quantity of tannins compare to other teas. The research results show that green tea infusion has antibacterial effects, such as it can inhibit the growth of Flexner's bacillus, Schmitz's bacillus, Sonne Bacillus and Shiga's bacillus, especially to the Shiga's bacillus, inhibition effect is much stronger than the others. At the same time research evidence shows that green tea has inhibition effects on salmonellae, Staphylococcus aureus, beta hemolytic streptococcus, Bacillus diphtheriae, Bacillus anthracis, Bacillus subtilis, Bacillus proteus and Bacillus pyocyaneus. Among all kinds of teas, evidence shows that high grade green tea and rain flower tea has much stronger bacteria inhibition effects than other teas. Thus, I think, the green tea's prevention effect of bad breath is because its anti-bacterial function.
Something I have to emphasize is that when you drink green tea you should know that it is not the more green tea leaves that you use in brewing, the better it is. Because research shows high density of green tea infusion will reduce its anti-bacteria effects.
Thank you again for your interest and I do hope that my findings can help you a little.
I wish you good luck in your presentation.
Sincerely Yours,
Tiffany (Tao) Song, MD

Re:Constipation
Dear Xianju Green Tea customer:
Thank you for your inquiry about whether Green Tea can help constipation. We did not find any report that mention Green Tea directly had such effect. If you have constipation, I still suggest to you to drink Green Tea. The reason is that the main reason of constipation is the movement of intestine, that are too slow which induce the wastes store in the body for a long time. At the same time, the body over absorbs a lot of decomposed products from the intestinal bacteria, and it is very bad for the health.
I recommend to you drinking Green Tea because it can accelerate the movement of the intestine. I would do just that. Because according to the research report, Green tea has a lot of effects that are really good for the health, such as it can clear the body system and get rid of the free radicals which accumulate too much that may result in cancer, aging and inflammation, etc. If you have constipation, Green Tea can help you to clean the toxins absorbed in your body. We will send you another report about Green Tea's anti-bacteria effects.
I do not know whether you are satisfied with my answer. I do believe you will find it beneficial to your health and you will enjoy drinking it.
Wishing you good health.
Sincerely Yours,
Dr. Tao Song
